The great story teller’s the Grimm brothers gave us the tale of Stone Soup. The story is about travelers who come to a town exhausted and hungry. They ask the villagers if they have any food to share but are turned down. So they set up a camp fire and start to cook a pot of rocks. A curious villager asks what they are doing. The travelers answer that they are making “stone soup”, and if the villager would like to bring a garnish they will share it with her. Another villager walks by, inquiring about the pot, and the travelers again mention their stone soup which hasn’t reached its full potential yet. And so it goes as more villagers walk by, each adding another ingredient. Finally, a delicious and nourishing pot of soup is enjoyed by all.
Stone Pie Joe’s was conceived while Joe was getting together with friends. They had some fun putting together interesting flavors to make pies. One pie led to another and one gathering of friends led to another. Now we hope you will gather a few friends and enjoy a fast, fresh and friendly meal with us. When you don’t have time to cook our hand held pies are a tasty meal low in fat (minimal olive oil is all we use), very low in sugar (typically just enough for the yeast to rise), no artificial ingredients, and they freeze well.
